Thought For Today:

“Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed.

“Most putts don’t drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. …

“Life is like an old-time rail journey—delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed.

“The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” (Deseret News, 12 June 1973.)

I repeat, my brothers and sisters, the trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride; and really, isn’t it a wonderful ride? Enjoy it! Laugh about it! Sing about it! Remember the words of the writer of Proverbs:

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22.

Let there be something of a light tone in your life. Let there be fun and happiness, a sense of humor, the capacity to laugh occasionally at things that are funny.24

In all of living have much of fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.25

Dear Fam,

Those McDonald's People sure saw us comin.' I ordered a strawberry shake. But that wasn't all that I got in my strawberry Shake. Someone put a few cacao's in there as well. So me and my companion had to throw out some otherwise perfectly good frozen dessert. Yikes!

Other things of note:

Jennifer is back on date. Hopefully this time for Keeps. But that's yet to be seen.

We had an amazingly spiritual lesson with Christine, one of our only non YSA investigators this week. She's really progressing. She has a hard time reading the book of Mormon so we're getting her a bigger print size copy. She said if she knew the message was true she would be baptized. (Yay!!!!)

We also had Jay (investigator for YSA) come to church again this week. That was cool.

We've just about knocked out the entire town of Manette. Soon to be starting round two!!!

Also. It is so beautiful here. And my Spanish is finally coming along a bit more so that's buenissimo. Que bendicione que finalmente empezando intendar esta muy bonita pero loco lenguaje une poquito mas. Lo Se que el Senor tiene un plan para mi y mi mision.

Hope your week was great! Love you all!

Sinceremente,

Elder Hakala
