Dear Family and Friends,
Que semana! This week has been quite something.
We've had a lot going on. So, I don't know if I've told you all this, but our apartment has been infested with ants, and black mold. We've mostly got the black mold gone, and the ants too, but now we might be moving! The owners have put our little place up for sale, so that means we're being kicked out! This in turn means that we've been doing a whole lot of spring cleaning lately (cleaning the bathroom was like visiting hades, pardon my french) We are probably headed to the sister's old house, and the sisters are probably moving somewhere new. But they have also had a rat problem over there.... so I'm definitely packing some bear spray. All in all its been quite the week, we have taught two more very spiritual restoration messages all in a row, with new investigatros (their names are Tasha and Maria) Maria has a family of three, and we are looking forward to teaching her more. She also just moved into a new house, so we can relate! ;)
We've given three blessings in the past two weeks, and I've had to refill my oil again. And we are going out again on Tuesday to more less active families with a chance of giving even more blessings. The spirit here has been incredible. I would not trade anything for this time. Not only is it changing others as I am learning to focus on them, but the more I focus on others the more it changes me! But if you want to improve yourself, you serve a mission, and focus your efforts entirely on others. Then, and only then will the blessings come. I've learned yet again this week that every time I "seek first the kingdom of God" whether or not I know why, I never regret it. But in order to serve to our fullest capacities we need to be like Lehi, and "bring nothing with us save [that which the Lord has commanded" I know that as we do this leaving behind all else, dropping along the wayside the things that don't really matter, forgetting the things of this life to seek for that of a better, that is the way we are able to find true happiness. You don't always have to know why; you be obedient, and the blessings will come. The church is so true sometimes I just want to run along the rooftops screaming "READ THIS BOOK AND COME TO CHURCH" "GOD LOVES YOU!!!" But I know that only works sometimes ;) It's at least comforting to know that everyone is a part of God's plan and His plan is individual to each of them. He knows your name, and He knows your struggles. And all things will work together for their good in the Lord's timing if they will be faithful. Everyone will have their chance, and "no one is destined to fail." How I love the Lord! That is what gives me peace in times of darkness and struggle. therefore "hold on thy way". I promise you with every fiber of my being and all that I am that if you will trust in your Heavenly Father, He will not let you down. So be strong. Hang on. And Be true.
The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. And it can reclaim, redeem and sanctify even you. Keep trying. And Never give up.
Yo decio esas cosas en el nombre de Jesucristo, mi maestro, amen.
Nos amo todos y espero que tenga une semana muy buena!
Mucho Amor,
Elder hakala
