Dear family, dot dot dot.......
I did so many super awesome sweet cool buzz chuzz frankydanky dope sick awesome cool stuff this week.... and, uh... blah blah blah... here's my companions letter.
Wow, another fantastic week!
The work is progressing, just a slower rate than I hope sometimes. But todo esta bien, because I just have to remember to do my part, and the Lord will do the rest! None of our investigators are on date, yet. We are hoping to get Susana this next week, and are really excited for her. She is super ready, just scared to act. Other than that, we found some news this week, actually a week of finding for the mission! We had a goal of 300 mission wide this week, which was a reach, but we actually got 291! Pretty crazy!
Some cool stuff happened this week! Fog rolled in like a big sad baby boi, and just festered everywhere. I kinda liked it though, I wish I had a better camera to fully appreciate the soft lights the fog made of everything. Defnitely can't wait to visit post mission and photograph the little beauties out here! In other news, I cracked the code this week, and we got punked.
Getting punked Chp. 1:
We started knocking this hotel-like apartment complex this week. I say hotel-like because O honestly don't know which it was hahaha
But anyway, we knocked a door, and the guy on the other side yells "I'm coming!" so we wait. We waited a long while, assuming that this was an older gent, as enough time passed for anyone capable of crawling to have reached the door by this time(these were small rooms, like legit a hotel room). Anyway, we knocked again finally, and immediately after an agitated shout "I'm almost there!". We jumped back from the power of the shout. So, we waited again. ... ... .. We began to hear some words being said on the other said of the door, and as the whole building seemed to be constructed from Styrofoam Balsa wood, we could easily hear it: "Oh man! I got Snipers up the butt out here!!"
Oh man, we got tricked, and Halloween was like a month ago! He was a classic prankster. Did it all for the goofs. Yeah I don't think he even heard us knock. Down the hall a ways, we heard him shout "What a CROCK!!" Thinking of you pop. :)
Then, laster this week, we knocked this door during 5-7's, and after a short while, a knock back. Well, I had decided long ago that if people knock back, I would knock back again. Well, this knocking back and forth went on a few different times, and then the door creaks open reeaal slow. On the other side, we found Rod. Post Vietnam soldier, that lost his legs in the battle for our country. Well, he was just as startled as could be seeing us, and he said "Oh gee, I thought it was my neighbor...." and I quickly replied "so I cracked the code?!" hahah he was way funny man, just going off about vet hospitals, and how he cant wait to "join the ranks of the homeless" when he runs out of rent money next month. Man, well he was donw to listen to us, so I am interested to see what happens with my homie Rod.
Well, something I've learned this week:
The most important thing is the Spirit in the work. Don't let your pride (bashing), companion (lack of communication), angry people you knock into, or anything else hinder the Spirit, because the Spirit is the KEY! Elder HAkala and I have been working on asking inspired questions, taking time in the lesson for silence, and let the Spirit inspire you with questions. Well, turns out, it works, and it helps. Almost as if The Spirit is teaching rather than you.... So yeah, this week has been humbling and eye-opening for sure. Following the Spirit is as many aspects as possible in the work, because things done through/with the Spirit are things done the right way 100% without fail! I have a testimony that God loves us and knows where we are and what we are dealing with. Pray for the Comforter to come into your life, and Our Father in Heaven is more than willing to deliver!
